Default Brookwood Alabama apartment help?

My husband and I will be moving next year from new mexico to brookwood alabama. Well I've gotten online to find an apartment but can only find listings in tusculoosa or birmingham. Are there any apartments there? Whats the area like, whats there to do. Anything information would be really appreciated.

Hi, Lola. Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I married a coal miner's daughter from Brookwood in 1972. So far, so good.
The housing is pretty much all single-family. Tuscaloosa would be an easy commute and probably have something to fit your situation. According to our ten year old phone book the Brookwood town hall is 205-556-1300 if you have any questions. TuscaloosaNews.com might give you some ideas.
As far as recreation, Brookwood has cable TV and the river is nearby and that's about it. The countryside is hills, pine trees and coal mines. The school should be K-12. Two or three gas stations, a couple of cafes, a grocery store and some miscellaneous businesses.
Good luck!

Why are moving to Brookwood, specifically? It's not exactly a job destination unless you are have a job related to the mines.

The reason we were considering brookwood was because my husbands company had a office there. But now that we have done further research we wont even be moving to the area anyway. Thanks for the advice.
