Default Gulf Shores vacation

I am curious as to whether black families go to Gulf Shores on vacation much. Does anyone know if there are many black families on the beaches or if there is any stigma associated with that down there? With so many places to choose from, I would as soon not go to vacation where my family isn't very welcomed.

Thanks!

I saw maybe 6 black families there this weeekend.Black families do not tend to go to the beach in Al. Don't know why.Too far from Mobile I guess.Black families in Mobile tend to recreate in the city at the local neighborhood pools.

Alabama is typically redneck and Gulf Shores is no exception.Point being you will have jerks anywhere that will say about anything, but you belong anywhere you please no matter what anyone has to say.You will have no problem at Gulf Shores.

Default 6 families?

That doesn't hardly seem like any African Americans then when you think that this is Spring Break time. While it's true anyone should be able to vacation anywhere the fact is that he is bringing his family and that it might not be so comfortable for them there. Gulf Shores has a nickname. It's called "Redneck Riviera".

The last time I was in Gulf Shores I don't recall seeing any African American families. Maybe I wasn't paying attention to something like that, though. I don't recall seeing many black families at Myrtle Beach last year either. Maybe they go to other beach vacations. It's insane that people are made to feel unwelcomed anywhere.

I don't think black people would have a problem in Gulf Shores, their money is green too. The younger crowd probably stick with their "Black spring break". Hell, I'm still waiting for the white spring break to happen. Or even a Mexican one would do.

I rarely see them in Gulf Shores. Skeedoodle- take your own advice and go someone else. Not just because of that issue. To spend your vacation time in Gulf Shores your prioritys would have to be eating fried shrimp and getting an overpriced t-shirt saying Gulf Shores. Go elsewhere.
