Thanks for all the tips! I think we will definitely spend a day in Fairhope. How far "down the road" is Point Clear from Fairhope? Can we see both in one day? Also, when is blueberry season down there and does anyone know the best place to buy or pick?
Thanks again!

Point Clear and Fairhope are pretty close together - should be no problem to see both in one day.
I think blueberry season is over...ours tends to be late May/June.

Yes, Point Clear is very close. Make sure you look at The Grand Hotel. It is a historical location, even though the original(a hospital during the Civil War) was burned, and this one has been reconstructed several times, it is very interesting. There is a hallway full of old pictures and newspaper articles about the old place.
Blueberries are all over. The season is May/June and it got so hot in June that they were not as good. Record hot days in July and record cool days in July...go figure. We're loving the nice cooler days...no complain from Paradise.
There is a scooter rental place in Fairhope, on scenic 98, and it might be fun to do. Many people go biking to Point Clear...nice paths. Have fun!!!!

If you like to check out cemeteries you might want to check out one behind the library in Mobile. Jimmy Buffet also wrote a song about the library.
Not necessarily historic but..gb
You might want to check out the "Little Zoo that could" in Gulf Shores featured on animal planet.
Also go by Magnolia Springs. Mail is still delivered by boat the last I heard. Quaint little town.

All we got from Claudette was needed rain, and not so much. Same in Gulf Shores. You should be OK if you are coming in the next week. Ana and Bill do not seem to be coming this way. Enjoy your stay!
