Default Alabama Social Security?

my mother-in-law is on social security here in AZ and that is her only form of income- she is wondering if anyone would know some kind of average, or formula that the state of Alabama would use to figure out about what she would get if she were to relocate there, so that she can weigh that amount and the amount she gets here versus the cost-of-living in both states. I realize this is a long shot question- but if there is anyone who has relatives or knows some older or disabled people on state assistance- I would appreciate any info on an approximate amount of benefits they are receiving. Do you think that contacting state or county governments in AL would be helpful?
Thanks and have
a lovely day

I would contact your local agency and ask them if there would be a difference if she moved to Alabama.

If you're speaking of some kind of state program, then it could possibly be different, but if you're speaking of federal social security, that's based on lifetime earnings, not where a person lives.

Default Totally agree

Social Security is not a "welfare" program, it is a Federal program. Where you live is inconsequential to your SS earnings.
