Default Alabama unemployment rate @ all time high

It's getting worse day by day though the counties that were hit the hardest are the same counties I wasn't surprised by. Dallas county was hit hard but even before the recesssion, it was always tough there which is what caused me to leave.

Then there's wilcox and Calhoun county. You can't find **** here. Excuse my french, but it's ridiculous here in Calhoun county and JSU raising their tuition for that bs stadium isn't helping much.

I can't c/p the artice since I'm doing this off a phone.

Those counties already had the highest unemployment in the state. Those are black belt counties.

I know. The news I was watching at the time noted that as well, but I was surprised Shelby county made the list.

There's not many jobs here in Escambia County either unless you're trained to work in the medical field (nurse, physical therapist, etc). I don't even think the new casino is doing much hiring right now.

I've applied for nearly 100 jobs in Calhoun in the past two months and no luck. I've put in at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Tons of fast food and resteraunts, manual labor, lots of thing, and the large majority of them actually claimed to be hiring at the time. It's getting rather desperate around here. I mean, I thought for sure McDonalds would take me since I've worked there before (years ago) and as a cook at Denny's. No luck though...

Yeah, the job market here is horrible. It's why Im transfering schools as one reason. There's nothing here other than Fort McClellan and the depot. Have you tried calling any others as well?

Haven't tried them yet. When I put in for a job at K-mart I had to schedule my interview online and the earliest interview date available was October 1st!

There's nothing in this area seems like it. What about applying to jobs in different states on the net? Still nothing?
