Dothan for sure!!!! I lived there for 5 years and is about the size of Macon, Georgia. Live in Houston county though, that's the good core of town. Montgomery is bland for its population.

Dothan is a nice town. Montgomery is more of a larger city and more urban feel (especially downtown) both are great places, just Dothan has more of a small town feel, and its located just over an hour from the beach, which is a huge plus!

Macon is just a bit bigger than Dothan around 30,000 difference, and plus Macon has a more larger metro area if you consider Warner Robins. Dothan is more comparable to Albany, GA in population and size

I like Dothan. Montgomery does not feel like a town of 200k+. It is small and bland. Dothan is colose to the beach and has a great airport!!!!

I have heard a lot of good things about Dothan; it seems very 'cosmopolitan'. No: I am not referring to the extremist left wing attitudes of San Francisco, NYC, Wash DC, etc.

dougee, just because your kids are all honor students doesn't mean everyone else's kids are doing just as good and therefore makes the city of Dothan better than Montgomery.... thats going a bit too far.

I'm not sure I would agree that Dothan is very cosmopolitan. At best it might be to the right of the middle, if you know what I mean.

Montgomery is a good town. Has a larger downtown. Is more spread out. Not much for night life though. I don't know about Dothan's night life.

All in all, it really depends on what you're looking for.... What ARE you looking for??
Your initial question is very broad. Be more specific to your needs...
