Did Alabama go a little too far with this one?

"Alabama officials banned a California wine over a nude on its label, saying it shows 'a person posed in an immoral or sensuous manner.'"

The AL officials are humans too.
Can't they just drink it eye-closed in the dark (there, 2 layers of defense) and recommend the general population do the same ... because, yeah, "we tried it and it worked: we cannot see anything "

And to the wine manufacturers: they can redesign the label where the lady wears a skin-colored negligee (where only the shoulder straps would be an indication that she is clothed) and have her ride a horse if lounging along a bicycle is sensuous.

But as I read the article, they had their revenge: no publicity is as good as bad publicity >> "banned in Bama"

Com on, would you expect anything less from Alabama? Its nothing more than "Alabama being Alabama"...

How about this bama, instead of banning a wine because it contains a classic cartoon image (looks pretty cool to me), why don't you instead ban the milk shakes, sugar laced soda, and slurpees that your notoriously overweight residents keep "pounding" in record numbers!

Ok, Bama give me your best comeback, and please somehow keep race and football out of your response!!

Funny that a poster who wants to slam Alabama for our supposed stupidity can't even spell the word "come."

Actually, you also never learned that the word "Its" is possessive only. I think you were really trying to say "It's," as in "It is," right? Did you miss that day in school? I mean, if they teach proper punctuation in Alabama, surely your teachers covered that in Virginia unless, of course, you rode the short bus every morning and afternoon.

While we're at it, let's look at the nice run-on sentence to begin your second paragraph. By the way, not only should "bama" be capitalized, but it should have an apostrophe before it. So the word in question should read 'Bama.

There. No football. no racism. Simply good old-fashioned grammar, which seems to escape you. I guess you're not exactly the paragon of education you claim to be.

Now, back to the subject at hand. Yeah, it's stupid, but it's the state government in action. What do you expect?

Yeah, I just refused to get that one. I'm as patriotic as the next guy, but I refused to get swept up in the jingoism after 9/11. On the plus side, you have to admit that they did a much better job with the new one.

I wish I spent the $50 and got the "First to the Moon" with the Saturn V plate. I like it. Next time I won't be so cheap.
