Default counties between Auburn and Ft. Benning

Hey there guys and gals. Need some advice please...my husband may have a job at Ft. Benning, should know more soon. We would like to remain in Alabama. What are some good, safe counties between Auburn and Ft. Benning to live. Also, can someone also tell me what are good schools in this area. Thank you!

Russell County is the closest. Phenix City is the city located in the county. Minutes from Columbus and Fort Benning.

First let's remain calm. Actually Russell county would be the only county that's between Lee and Chattahoochee counties.

At the same time I would second Smith Station as the spot. It's quiet suburban with good schools. Either way good luck!

Your post is too generic to give answers.
What age are your kids, any special needs such as medical facilities ... Are you in the market to buy or rent and what is your budget range?
Ft. Benning is a rather large facility. Do you know where your husbund might work and what gates are closest?

Pheonix City is not the best area. Auburn itself is a nice community. If you move near Benning, be sure to check out the new infantry museum. It is very nice.

Yea, the new infantry museum is amazing. Been there twice now. They did a great job there.

As for safe communities, North Columbus and Smiths Station come to mind. Also, anywhere in southern Harris County would be good.
