Guntersville, Albertville and Boaz are all in a row. If you want to live on the lake then yes it will cost you. What do you need? Apartment or house? Are you going to be working in Boaz?

The people are friendly in Boaz as they are in just about everywhere in N. AL. They have a large hispanic (illegals) community due to the poultry plants and construction. You can find what you are looking for in many places in Marshall or Morgan county. I would suggest you check out the city-data forum for Boaz http://www.city-data.com/city/Boaz-Alabama.html and the city website where you will find crime stats if that interest you http://www.boaz.net/city/. Hope this helps

Lived in Boaz area
I currently live in Randolph County. I did live in the Boaz area several years ago in a rural town..Sardis, Al. It's about 8 miles from Boaz. My parents still live their. I do remember when we moved to that area my parents had first looked at real estate in Guntersville. But it was not affordable for them either. I favor Boaz because of the outlet stores and because it's a smaller town. How long have you been in medical transcription from home? Could you give me any helpful information on transcription from home?

HI! I'm also in medical transcription and work from home and am looking to move to the Boaz area. Have you found any rentals that you can share?

The good thing about Boaz area is you can live in Albertville or Guntersville and not have far to travel since they are one right after another and it is hard to tell where one begins and another ends.
Rentals are reasonable in this area. Are you looking for a house or an apt? If you are looking to buy then you are in the right place.

What type of job? Pay is lower in AL, but then so is the cost of housing. Are you going to rent or buy?
Check here for jobs.. you can work in Albertville or Boaz and be close to work, further away is Guntersville or Gadsden.

Boaz is a very small town, quite rural. The outlets are shadows of what they used to be, now that you find an outlet mall near every vacation area and big town. Many of those stores are abandoned. Be sure you visit first. Opportunities are limited.
