Ida
Ida made land fall at Dauphin Island, came chugging
right up the bay, hooked east and headed toward
Atmore. Now big deal. I've seen much worse summer
squals.

This is paradise to me. The economy is down here too.
There are jobs to be had in retail and service industry.
Homeowners insurance is awful; the closer to the water
the higher it is. Housing is higher the closer to the water.
Overall, I can't imagine living elsewhere. I will say I wish
things were like they were 10-15 years ago, but you
can't go back in time.

There are jobs in Mobile which is across the bay. There is a new steel plant hiring right now. IIRC there is a call center opening there too.

What does IIRC mean? I'm not familiar with that internet acronym yet.
Keeper (or anyone else), do you have a link to (or a name for) this call center that might open? I would be very interested to check it out. Currently in a developer position for a 500 company and much of what I develop goes to its call centers.

IIRC- if I recall correctly. Just learned that the other day.
I don't know too much about the call center, either, other than it is supposed to be fairly large I think.
Fairhope and Mobile suffered no more than maybe a couple lost limbs (tree limbs, that is); not bad at all. For more info on Fairhope, look in the Mobile subforum in posts about Fairhope and the Eastern Shore.

Thanks! I might look into contacting them after the new year to see what their business needs might be.
