L.A. would get a team before Birmingham, and then...... Jesus would come back before Birmingham gets a team.

This is one of the bigggest reasons we don't have a pro team. People, at least ones I meet, like college over pro. Also, most actually despise pro. As an assumption, it is like that through most of the state. And the ones who do either are a Falcons or Titans fan. Gonna be hard to get a pro team here.

I don't know where you get your information from but that is incorrect. L.A. has expressed that they would like a expansion team and the league said no, that they would move a team to L.A. The owners do no want to share any more revenue. I was involved getting a team to Jacksonville and I know for a fact that Birmingham will not get an expansion team. They will not even get a team from relocation. There are other markets that can bring more money and Orlando & LA is two. I know Florida has three teams already but it is about the money, not a state that has no team. Not only that, Birmingham needs to clean up the city. That place is a dump and I mean that kindly. Some areas on the outside of Birmingham is beautiful but downtown is terrible.

As for as Jacksonville, you have listened to the talk shows. Jacksonville has a waiting list. We have the largest stadium in the NFL mainly because of the Florida-Georgia game. We may be a small market but just look at the Monday Night NFL ratings. We were one of the highest rated games. Before you comment, do some research and you will see that Jacksonville has more people moving here that most of the U.S. The only knock I have is that 25%of the fans come and watch the other team mainly because of all the Yankees that move down here. We love having them at the game and love watching them leave as losers.

Have you been in Birmingham lately? Downtown is slowing improving. But I agree, I don't think Birmingham is going to get pro teams of any kind in the near future. Atlanta depends on us to drive over and spend money there!!

Yes, I have. I was there six months ago. I grew up in Gardendale and was in the city to look at UAB as a college for my daughter. The reason she will not attend UAB is because of the poor condition of the city.I still have ties to the city but it has to be one of the worse cities I have been in. I love the Hoover area and also the Gardendale area. The question is ,have you been outside of Birmingham?
