Default Best place to look for land in Centre/Cherokee county

Hi, I have been doing searches for hours. Can anyone tell me the name of the local papers in Centre/Cherokee County? My husband and I are selling our acreage here in Adairsville Ga. We are searching for 10 acres or more to purchase. We started searching here but the land is just way to expensive.
I just need a starting point for the search. The classifieds, or even the name of a good realtor in the area would help. Centre and cherokee appear to be fairly close to Georgia.

Thanks
Sheila

Look in Ft Payne for realtors. Old Heritage or Southern Homes might be a start. You'll find land is either expensive or pretty bad in the area. Northwest AL is less expensive.

Smile Sand Rock/Leesburg/Lake Weiss

Really? My sister has some friends that bought 18 acres plus an older home in Sand Rock for less than 50,000.00. This was about 2 years ago. However the property right next to them with 12 acres and a 3 bedroom brick home with outbuildings was just bought for 69,900. I found this out after i posted this question. I don't know a whole lot about that area so we are driving out tomorrow to take a look.

Thanks!

Let us know how it turns out. We found that decent land in the area goes for $6K per acre or more, usually more. There is a lot of land being sold that has clouded title, is landlocked, floods, doesn't perc, or is vertical.

I will let you know. We always do our research before we buy. We are also looking into N.C, and Tenn. We just want to stay fairly close to family. 6k per acre is really pretty cheap for us. We bought ours here for 4300.00 an acre 8 years ago. Land all around us is now being sold for 12k per acre and up and 12k is on the low side

Thanks again
