Default Orange Beach/Gulf Shores

Wow these beaches are beautiful but the growth is so slow. Why??? There should be nice restaurants with many hotels to promote tourism. Also Perdido Key area is a ghost town.

I think a lot has to do with the timing of the hurricanes. Ivan devastated the area in '04, but Katrina got all of the attention in '05. The rebuilding was nowhere near complete when Katrina took all of the supplies, labor, etc. People just went further down the coast to Destin or PCB where there wasn't as much damage. There was an article in the paper yesterday about the great real estate bargains to be had in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach right now. I think it'll come back, but I'm glad it's not as overcrowded as Destin or a party town like PBC.
