Default hokes bluff or centre help!!!

My wife and I have started to shy away from considering the arab area due to all of the growth in huntsville. We are considering centre and are also looking at hokes bluff. Any information about these two areas would really help such as crazy growth, crime, and good schools.

I'm from Gadsden, originally. Brother went to Hokes Bluff High School, and I lived in Leesburg (next to Centre) from 1985 to 1995.

Both towns are good examples of "old south", but Hokes Bluff is more a location than a town. Not any "town" to it, but more a rural housing community for people not wanting to "live in Gadsden". It parallels the Coosa river for the length of the community and housing is less expensive there.

Centre actually has a little "town" complete with courthouse, etc., and even a K-Mart and WalMart these days. :-) Housing is also relatively inexpensive there, unless you want to live on Lake Weiss which has become ridiculously expensive.

Default thanks for the help

Thanks for the reply about centre and hokes bluff. We are going up next week to look around and we are narrowing it down to leesburg or centre. Everyone I have talked to seems to be very friendly. Do you know anything about cedar bluff or gaylesville?

Both are extremely small. Especially gaylesville. People are friendly but clannish. Cedar Bluff is basically an antique shopping little town. Gotta go a LONG way to get "anywhere".
