Default Moving to Talladega from Jacksonville Florida

HI! My family and I are thinking of moving to Talladega (in what they call the silk stocking district) and are wanting to see if anyone can tell us what it is like there? We are looking at buying a historical house and are alittle afraid of being in a small town. Does anyone know if there are car dealerships in the area?
Thanks for you help.

The area isn't Bad, people are very friendly (much more so than you are probablly used to in Jax.) Schools in Talladega aren't the best but Munford and Lincoln are close and have good schools. You'll love it if your looking for a small town environment.

No do not go to Talladega you will be very sorry it is a terrible place to live it has nothing there and I mean nothing.
Pell City is the best bet for having a decent living Talladega is very near and Pell City has everything you need its growing like a weed.
Talladega has had no economic growth in the past 18 years.
I know I am from Talladega, now living in Atlanta, the only way I would come back to Talladega is to run for mayor and try to bring forth some economic growth in the city.
The job market in Talladega is non-exsistint it has nothing there and I do mean NOTHING!!!!!

I have lived in Jacksonville fl for three years and my wife went to colllege in Talladega.Talladega is a small town, if you want to get away from the city,Talladega might be a good move for you, but personally I wouldn't do it.Oh yeah, Talladega is very close to Anniston al so I guess thats a plus.
