Hi, I am still thinking about where to go to graduate school. UA is one of my options. I currently live in Greenville, NC and pay $395/mo for rent, ~$100 electric, and $85 for cable/internet. Anyone know any good apartments in Tuscaloosa around that price range. I could probably afford $500/mo. I don't really care about amenities, I care more about the area/overall look of the complex. The cost of living is a major consideration for me in choosing a good graduate school. I don't want student apartments either (where you lease a room).

I wish I could help you, I've always lived on campus, so I'm not familiar with all the apartment complexes. There are some very nice ones, but in order to get the good deal, you gotta get in there and work at it. There are thousands of students trying to get the good deals, and new complexes aren't being built at the speed needed to cope with the growing market.
