Refund check
Just got my state refund check. They mailed it instead of depositing as directed. Opened it and found out that they had messed up my wifes name. She kept her maiden name and they put Marcy instead of Mary. What should I do ?  |

Sometimes, if the information they have on file is different from what you put down on the form, regardless if their's is the incorrect version, they cannot process it electronically. But chances are, you can still deposit it.
Have your wife check SS - to verify that her name(s) and date of birth are correct. One year, somehow, my dh's birthdate got switched from the 31st to the 13th. It took awhile to get them to straighten it out.

we thought of that and her ss # is correct with her maided name.

Have her endorse it the way it's written on the check and beneath that, endorse it again as it should have been and is on her/your bank account.
