Default From Anniston

Hi y'all. Can anyone recommend any activities for children 13 & older? My step daughter came to live with us just as school started, so this is her first summer here.

Take her and any other children to the History museum. There is suppose to be a tour of a dinasour (sp?) there for a limited time.

Been to the Natural History and Berman Museum. Great. There just doesn't seem to be much to do in the summer for kids, without paying through the nose.

What part of town do you live in? What type of things does your step daughter like to do? A lot of kids these days like to hang out at the mall. Does she play golf? softball? bowl? tennis? Oxford lake has a decent little par 3 golf course, tennis courts and several softball fields. There is Woodland park out at Saks/Lenlock. Also in Saks is Beyound Imagination. While it isn't free, I don't think it's too expensive.

I'll try to offer other suggestions after you tell us a little more about your step daughter.

Well, we live in the Anniston/Saks area. So far she's been on 3 softball teams. The last season ends 7/5, so I'm trying to find her something else to do. I was going to send her to a day camp at the community center, but there weren't going to be any kids her age there...all in elementary. She is going to spend a week with her Nana in late July, but I need something for her to do until then.
