Although I live in Fl now because that's where my husband wants to be, I have lived off & on in Mobile all my life because that's where my mother's relatives are. I absolutely love Mobile. It's friendly, homey, beautiful, & just a wonderful place to live. I stayed in Birmingham many years ago for about a year & just didn't care for it, but that's just a personal thing.

Hi Freaky,
I think you mean Orlando Jones, who was in "Drumline." I loved those 7Up commercials - hilarious!

Don't forget Jimmy Buffett, while not born there he was raised in Mobile. He went to McGill and he has recorded many songs about Mobile.
I live in N. AL now and love it.. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Obviously, not everyone is compatible with every region/state in the country. But what is interesting to me is how if someone doesn't like where they live, they put the blame 100% on the place and none on themselves. There are places I wouldn't live in AL, like parts of Birmingham and parts of Montgomery. But overall, this is a fabulous place to live IMO.
