I think you're saying that tongue in cheek, or maybe not. Kansas does actually have some really nice areas, like NE Kansas ( especially Atchison area and areas that border Missouri in the Kansas City metro..... i.e. Prairie Village, KS ... a midwest modern Mayberry ); the Flint Hills region is pretty in its special way.

The people ..... some of the best in the country. I've never lived in a place so friendly as Kansas City metro...... the people are welcoming, frank, and friendly.... a great combo.

There's just no comparo between what happened in the South between the Civil War and the Civil Rights Act and northern racial unrest. The main difference is the absence of INSTITUTIONAL racism in the north. Yes, there was and is racism, but it wasn't codified and enforced by officials as it was in the South.
Don't know about Chicago, but I can tell you my school district in Ohio (early seventies) didn't have to bring in the guard-- they just drew gerrymandered school boundary lines so that High School A had six black kids out of 2000, and High School B had closer to six hundred.

Yeah, there was-- and is-- racism in the South. There was-- and is-- racism in every other part of this country, too, including New York and Michigan. Pretty much the only difference is that a lot of Yankees figure if they don't say it out loud it doesn't count.

My advice is to just consider the source.

If some folks want to show their ignorance by badmouthing an entire state then just ignore them.

People across the nation hate on Alabama but it's ok.It's nothing Alabama can do to change that. I think we need to stop trying to please them and just do what we do!

So, let's give him a gold star, but that doesn't mean he should be governor.

At this point, I think it's a lesser of two evils contest between Byrne and Davis. I wouldn't vote for either, but I'm slightly more inclined to say Davis is the better choice.

I hope no one gets angry at what I'm about to say, but if this does make you angry, you're probably one of the people I'm talking about. I'd say I'm sorry, but, that would be a lie and I guess you'll just have to get over it.

What I get from Byrne is that he should be governor because he's a, "Christian," doesn't support abortion, and won't ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER raise or impose new taxes.

3 good reasons to vote for him.

Well I guess I am one of the ones you want to make fun of! When I saw that ad on TV I made a mental note to self, make note of that name as one to vote for!!!! Just remember that he is running for Agriculture Commissioner and looks like he knows what he is talking about. Would you prefer a Harvard grad like Obama or Summers? I agree with the previous poster - didn't see anything he lied about!
