OK, will do! Here's the page I mentioned in the previous post:

Seafood Companies in Alaska

Here's another way to search for jobs related to fisheries. On this page, you can search all of AK or just a specific region. After selecting the location, "Option 2" allows you to narrow down the occupational category. Farming, fishing, and forestry is an option... then Search. I just ran this search (statewide) and found listings for processors, dock workers, deckhand, and a fisheries tech (among others).

To the OP, theres not much crab fishing in the summer, per se. Theres some brown crab fishing out the chain, starting August 15th, but there are very few oppurtunites for the in experienced.

October 15th, is the start of the Red King crab fishery, and there is bairdi and St. Matthew seasons until middle of December, or there abouts.

January, is when opilio fishing starts.

One really needs to get some boat experience first, that would be tendering salmon in the summer, or fish packing, as some call it, and that could lead to something further down the road.

Salmon fishing would be easier to break into, either seining or gillnetting.

Bristol Bay hires some greenhorns, and you could look up the Deep Sea Fishermans Union, and they post jobs on their web site.

Good Luck
