Hmm, I will say that they can be built up quite well, the older ones anyway. The great thing about a Sammy is the size, able to get into those tight places.

Thanks everyone for the points to consider! After test driving and looking at my driving habits and leisure time, I brought a used FJ home tonight from Anchorage. The Wrangler was actually a nicer drive than I thought it would be, but I will be doing more highway driving, so the FJ won out.

Well I had to go get it dirty.......did Archangel Road up by Hatcher's. Definitely got farther than I would have in the other vehicle. A special "varmit" plate might get ordered once the the purchase paperwork gets back from the DMV ....... Now I gotta come up with more ideas for road trips!
