As I've stated in a few other threads here and there, my wife and I (along with our two boys!) are moving back up to Alaska after 10 loooong years away. We're undetermined about whether it'll be to Fairbanks or the Anchorage/Mat-Su area, and MUCH of that depends on job availability.

Taking the advice of many on here who say you should try to secure something for work before you come up or as quickly as possible, let me ask this;

Does anyone know what kind of work may be available or what the market is like for someone with an Audio Production degree? I have an Associates in Electronic Media from Ohio University, and my focus was in audio, more specifically in radio. I know there are plenty of stations in both areas we're thinking about, but wondered if anyone had any idea how that market is for accepting new people into it. Where we're at right now, it was a wasted degree, as Clear Channel pretty much owns all the stations around here and someone would have to die for there to be a spot. AND it's ALL about "who you know" down here, meaning Billy Bob's cousin Cletus who used to call hog and run auctions out in the hollow would have a better chance at landing one of these jobs than I would with my "fancy degree"....
