Another money making idea bites the dust. Don't worry partner, I got a million of 'em. I have an idea to sell stream rocks outside. Ya know, "Genuine Alaska River Rock". I mean they make earrings outta moose pellets, don't they? You know, for the kids? Sure, sure.

I've always wondered when Senator Stevens would put some money up for a "Mosquito Wind Power Research Farm" like he did with the HAARP Ionospheric Research Observatory in Gakona? Theres millions and millions of skeeters out there that would make cheap energy for free. Would have to be better than the coal-fired power plant to be put up in Palmer.

By George, I did finally got rid of them after a few days in Watson Lake. The motorhome is now off limits to those critters. Of course, for awhile it was off limits to humans also. I've found some old smoke bombs in my tool bag which I normally use for checking heat exchanger integrity and set them off inside and then open all the doors and window. It is non toxic but it does have a very pungent odor that seem to stay for days. The coach looked like it was on fire w/ so much smoke pouring out. Like the people who live near dairy farms and can no longer smell the odor, I am in that position. Please be very polite when you visit me. I offend easily.

It seems gossips are circulating at my old hometown and the popular one is I have a kept lady w/me in my coach. The question seem to be: why does he exclude his wife and go alone on these trips? Well, now, if I was as rich and old as that Smith guy, I suppose there could be an Anna Nicole type w/ me. But since I am far from being the former and much more the latter, fat chance that ever will be happening. Plus, if there were any hint of that being true, my wife would be here.

Have you tried the mosquito coils at the front door of your coach? Sorry not to have a pun available for you, as the one I was thinking about may be a bit x-rated so will leave it alone.

To be honest, every man in Alaska gets plenty of attention from the ladies. Lady mosquitos, that is.
![]() A basic fact of biology is that only the females typically need to seek a blood meal, as it's necessary for the development of their eggs. Male mosquitos feed mainly on plant nectar and not blood, human or otherwise. So at least in the insect world, the odds are overwhelming that (unlike lawyers and politicians) when a bloodsucker is after you, its always a female. |
