Most Alaskans loved Ted Stevens. I don't believe anyone brought more pork into their respective states than him and Robert Byrd of West Virginia.

They were cash cows for their state.

Along come Sarah Palin and Joe Miller promising to ween Alaskans off the governments teat. No more money for independent Alaskans. However, the money Stevens brought to Alaska did an awful lot of good for its citizens.

If Miller is elected he'll have zero clout in Washington and Alaska indeed will get next to nothing in pork spending. Why people continue to vote against their own best interest is beyond me.

NOTE: I'm against any and all pork. I was just making a point -- a point Alaskan voters seemed to have ignored.

All new senators have zero clout. Eventually, as more dinosaurs quit or get voted out, Miller will be able to move into key positions. Irrelevant argument to make. There is still a general election to hold, also. Hopefully Alaskans won't send another Obama-ite to Congress.

Glad to see the Murkowskis no longer getting to feed at the trough. We are two absentee votes that went for Miller.

Was he on the ballot?? How come I didn't see his name?? Oh, man, if I coulda, I woulda voted for Mickey.

Alaska is part of the US of A, last time that I checked. What is bad for the US of A in general then is bad for Alaska.

The ma$$ive debt being built in Wa$hington by the $ociali$t-in-Chief needs to be derailed. Put national interests ahead of private pork. That needs to be the election mantra this year.

Man, this is turning into the politics thread....

He ran on 'no more pork' for Alaska so the argument isn't irrelevant. Look, if that's what Alaskans truly want, then that's fine.

Pork-free Alaska. No longer the other white meat.

Could we say that turning down Federal pork relieves Alaska of Political Trichinosis??
