The Kenai Peninsula is a tourist haven...along with the entire southeast sector. You should have no trouble finding somekind of work in either quadrant!

Hey Cat,
I'm an ex Princess employee and I can tell you it's corporate but okay. Fish Taxi is right about the private lodges IF you get into a good one. If you don't get into a good one--it can be hell. At least with a place like Princess you have that corporate impersonal thing going on which can work to your benefit. I work for a private employer now but would have no problem going back to Princess if I had to. If you work as a tender you'll make money no matter where. I made bank in their formal dining room there. Princess does take out for food and lodging--a lot of private places will do that as well though. For someone just coming up for their first season, Princess isn't a bad way to go. Just do your job, stay under the corporate radar, enjoy your time here and you'll be fine. ![]() By the way, claim 10% on your tips and you'll get a much healthier tax return next spring. |

Check out ReluctantFishermanDotCom in Cordova. I know they are hiring and provide housing if available. It's not a remote lodge, but Cordova is a remote town. Check out CordovaChamberDotCom for info on Cordova. The Reluctant Fisherman Inn is a great little hotel, bar & grill located in a great little coastal Alaska town! At the remote lodges you will meet the staff, but everyone else comes as a visitor. In a town like Cordova, you will meet Alaskans doing what they do in the summer--commercial fishing, berry picking, putting up salmon for the winter, having fun!

I've thought about working for them too. I would love to spend time there after college. I have looked at Princess Jobs and saw the offer lodging for employees. Money is not really a big issue sense its for the expierence and I am used to getting by on the bare minimum (college student). Also would not mind spending a winter working at Alyeska but we will see what happens.

Well, I live and go to college in Maine. I just want to spend time in Alaska after that before life gets too serious and busy.
