29 degrees early this morning by my home near Fairbanks But then it should warm to around 60 degrees during the day. This is the most beautiful time of the year because of all the beautiful colors.

It's been about 40F in the mornings here. Warmed up to about 60F today, and we've had two solid weeks of absolutely beautiful weather. Not a cloud in the sky at the moment, and supposed to keep up at least through the weekend. Still, the leaves are turning and falling, and it's odd to drive to work with the sun just starting to come up over East Peak, and to have sunset start at 8pm. It hasn't even been that long since it really started getting dark at night.

I have Johnny Cashs voice in my head singing "and I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when..." really it is driving me crazier then the constant fog of the last week. When the fog clears though, oh my, lovely!

I understand the bugs but then comfort yourself that rain gives us the 10,000plus lakes. My daughter has been calling me from Bemidji and sending me pictures all summer, makes me so homesick I could die until I remind myself that I haven't seen a mosquito or black fly all summer.
