In my part of the state we have the bugs but not many lakes besides the "prairie pot holes"

I need to go to check out this Bemidji sometime. Big contrast today. Forecast calls for upper 50's in Bemidji today but 80 in my part of the state! Bound to be some big storms somewhere in the state.

You need to post some pictures of the first snowfall in Barrow. I wonder how much longer it will be for the rest of us this year?

I've been wondering what will happen when this late blast of summer finally ends. There have been a lot of wicked storms out there that have been deflected by the ridge of high pressure, but when it finally breaks down I've been thinking the weather may just flip like a switch to winter. Now there's some talk of this elsewhere:

According to forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Fairbanks, the above-average temperatures enjoyed across much of Alaska for the past week and a half will be replaced by below-average temperatures by the end of the week.

should i pick the rest of the peas in my garden?

What about carrots? Will they be okay in the ground if it frosts?

My guy's mom said that the other day. I thought it was about over this morning: ice on the windshield and fog that didn't break until after 3pm. Only got up to about 55. Supposed to be cooler this week than last. Accuweather predicts that the sun will stick around for the most part, but we'll have lows in the lower-30s and highs in the mid-40s by the first of next month.
