Face it.

Lisa is a shill just like any other republican politician who cannot vote her conscience. They stand in a row one by one, more like robots and appearing like clones.

Miller is alive and well........however he is living in 1810.

I think you might get an argument from some Scandinavian countries. Despite the USA! USA! USA! chant, many people around the world are perfectly content in their own countries. And there are countries doing better than us in more than one category.

I would disagree with you Richelles. I think the US in on the ropes in terms of economy health care and internals.........many citizens in other nations simply don't want to give up the educational benefits the much lower crime and robust lifestyles and though they have higher and in some cases much higher tax rates they feel themselves a community at heart with many more benefits. This is true in many countries. Now if you want the edge of freedom creativity and live without anyone's leave then the US in my view is the place to be and perhaps that's what you meant. For my money I am happier here but sense our communities are stressed and in some areas it is open war in schools and communities. The disintegration of cities is tragic with whole areas under control of gangs. Not the America that anyone would want, but it is present.......and growing.

The fact is that neither do you.

That's not the anus that everyone has. Just you, Miller, and the Right Wingnut movement.
Just imagine if all the anuses were the same But my point stands, opinions (which include yours) are like anuses; everybody has one. Although you are ill-mannered, full of it, and argumentative. Add that to an enormous ego, and the results are: tantrums and name-calling. Life has been hard, eh?

I would suggest that you have the middle of the story without providing the ends. Originally, at the beginning of the last Century, this Country was basically self sufficient in that we made most of what we needed until our political situation started to consider we had to bring the rest of the world up from the abyss of poverty. We did that by importing from others spreading our wealth around the third world. You may suggest which President and Party began this descent into oblivion but there is plenty of guilt to go around. As long as we were the arsenal of democracy everyone wanted to come here to begin the good life. Today that part of the story is still true but we have sent our future abroad and our current crop of politicians, and the voters who elect them, don't have enough smarts to realize that. Look at the current immigration problems which we seem helpless to solve.

So today, as the President said "I'm all for trade" and went on to begin to get it right by saying we need "Fair Trade". But is fair trade what lead us to "Lend Lease" during the Forties? That lead us to buying the world's products after the Forties and finally to make buying from others the sole means of production which is where we find our selves today. Walk into any Big Box and see how much comes from elsewhere and we're so damn proud that the Chinese can fund our National Debt.

What if we withdrew from all the foreign trade obligations and added import duties sufficient to displace most imports, except for the raw materials we need, and went back to days of old would we be the raging success we once were? Sure as hell everyone still believes we're the place to be but let's stop doing what has ruined us. And face facts; both Partys are to blame and every President has favored Foreign Aid and helping the World become what we excelled at. It's time to stop all immigration and send home those who don't belong here but where is that Political will going to come from? Today we, as a Nation, aren't looking out for ourselves but rather the entire world including those who don't care a rat's fanny for us. Are you ready to create the Colossus that was once this Country and force the remainder of the World to look up to us? It means we must change everything we have done in the past Century.

The guy sure sounds like an Alaskan elitist to me.
The Bush tax cuts should stay for all, and a reason why around 21 Democrats in Congress are siding with the Republicans. This may very well be because of the upcoming elections, of course

Joseph W. Miller, the legal name for Joe Miller, just admitted he received Federal Farm subsidies from a farm he owned in Kansas. Seems like he feels Federal subsidies are OK for Joseph but not cool Joe.

I think Richelles that your point is economic and mine social. Entwined but nonetheless apple and an orange? My point is that socially people are at more of a crossroads and the charlatans of the right are taking advantage of a weary consumer. Back when you suggest an agrarian economy provided most with an equitable albeit hard work life. You worked and the mom tended the home and the kids. Society thrived. Now two people work and the loss of one earner means the loss of all the benefits. Add to that the flagrant misdeeds of Enron etc (Dear Ken Lay being worth more to his family dead than alive aka the ultimate tool) and the cronies then and now slapped hard working people in the face, and it stung.

My point is this. That people were pushed to the brink and now they are being relegated to unemployment.

Capitalism vs. Socialism. In the former the few have the goods in the latter everyone has the goods but less of them. The rich cry out and the poor struggle and the cities turn into nightmares and the schools are not much better. 130 murders in Chicago schools, random premeditated violence in the the workplace and the rich funding anti Obama messages that shoot arrows right into the belly of the racist minions who follow beck and the fat boy....they keep the populace enraged while they know full well who (in your example) sold the jobs down the funnel to Punjab. Corporations are global. People are local. The battle is on and it will be a far island that brings America back to the values and instincts which propelled it into the light of reason.....if ever.

That thing called Vietnam in my opinion started the plague and we have never been the same since.....

Thanks for the interesting coversation.

Richelles -stereotyping is for small minds. Yes all attorneys, Blacks, immigrants are the same. Perhaps your attorney couldn't protect you when you got years behind in your child support.. or worse. Miller by the way is an attorney.

Neither you nor Debbie can articulate at a grade school level. If you can't write - how can you think?

Miller and Palin appeal to the fringe and uneducated, just like the Dem LA Congresswomen appeals to the left.
