The husband was bummed because his image was shattered when he shook her hand as he bent over the table and smelled "dirty hair". (his description was along the lines of a collie coming in from the rain)
His wife, which I suspect may have been a bit jealous, elaborated on all the heavy make-up which didn't cover her age real well.
I have never seen Sister Sarah in person so I can only go by her television image which isn't bad until she opens her mouth.
The heavy make-up I could handle, the wet collie hair-not so much.

For updos like hers, it is much easier to keep the hair in place when it is dirty, according to fashion mags but Yuck! I wouldn't want to have smelly hair.
