It's estimate that a gas line from the north slope to the Alberta hub would cost upwards of $40 Billion.

Also, due to the meddling policies of the Palin administration and our busy-body Alaskan state legislature, as you posted a while back Alaska has fallen to the bottom of the list of business friendly states, particularly in the area of oil and gas development. For example, as was recently announced last week, for the second year in a row Conoco-Philips plans to drill NO new exploratoty wells on the north slope next year. The first time this has ever happened in over 35 years of production there.
Can you explain..... I don't understand, what did Palin do to stop the drilling? I can't find anything that says, anything about her being against it. Have only found Palin supporting drilling in Alaska, and that this administration and environmentalist are the ones to blame.

Raised taxes on Alaskan oil producers to the point where it is no longer economically attractive to explore for new wells. Coupled with the natural decline of existing wells, this places Alaska on the road to a slow economic death. All this was done under the auspices of "getting even with those greedy oil companies." Hardly a conservative, pro-business philosophy at all - it actually exposes her for what she really is - a populist, anti-business, hypocritical big government demagogue.

Thanks for the info, so when she was running with McCain and saying Drill Baby, Drill, she was lying?

Are you okay with the oil producers making bank and the State and it's people not making much? The oil producers don't have to live with the devastation of Valdez or BP Oil. But, the people do,the State does. The oil producers just want it for free, so this just makes it easy for them to throw their hands in the air, and move to a Third World Country and rape their resources, and pay nothing or give back, don't you think?

This is illustrative of taking what someone says on television at face value and finding out the actual facts...

by 3rd world country, are you talking about North Dakota?

When no one is drilling the state doesn't get squat. She got greedy and it cost us dearly. Not only in royalties...but the lack of jobs which trickles down into spending dollars in AK. We could have been building pipelines, we could have been drilling, we could have been producing. Instead we are unemployed or working in another state.

Why is it you assume I get my information from the television!!!

You might want to look at this.......Nigeria's agony dwarfs the Gulf oil spill. The US and Europe ignore it | Environment | The Observer or The World's Most Profitable Companies

I'm sure once the North Dakota ask for the Oil Companies to support the economy they will pull up and leave.

You need to see that it's not all Palin, your President had his hands on this kindly read and you will see Mr. Obama and the Environmentalist, the same people that did nothing about the spill in the Gulf.............Barack Obama and Sarah Palin on Taxing Oil Companies and Giving the Money to Others
Obama thinks he can do good to the oil companies’ customers by depriving the oil companies of the means to expand production, which expansion they would quickly undertake and achieve if not prevented year after year by his leftist, environmentalist cronies in Congress and the courts. It is that gang of cronies that is responsible for the high price of oil and, indirectly, for the very high profits of the oil companies. The more they restrict the supply of oil, and of competing forms of energy, such as atomic power, the higher they drive its price and thus the profits of its producers. Whoever is unhappy about the high price of oil and oil products should blame the leftist/environmentalist bloc in Congress and in the courts, and the environmental movement behind it. These are the parties actually responsible.

As far as work, Alaska and the pipeline are not the only things that went in this country. Construction is just about gone. I know about out of State working, every time Democrats are in charge construction takes a hit and we have to travel out of State, if we are even lucky enough to find it in another State.

People in power, have no idea about the working class.

Because of this statement:

That's what she was saying on television; that's what I was addressing.

Of course she's pro-drilling and she wasn't lying when she chanted that on tv. But as Rance said...she got too greedy and sold out her own state.
