Alaska Airlines. I will try and rent it out. extra person to help with fixing up the cabin and less chance of wild bear destruction. any thoughts to the location of Willow, Alaska?

Willow's all right, but it's in a little dip, which affects the weather somehow. It always seems to be raining there in the summer, even when Whitesilla is sunny. Can get colder than surrounding areas in the winter too. But it's really pretty there.

Won't it be a little hard to run a computer when you have no electricity?

Bob, that's going to depend on telephone lines, which may not go out there, and you won't be able to just call the phone company and ask them to get you a line. You might have to get a dish and run a generator.

If you don't have power chances are you don't have phone either. It's not simple to get a phone line put in...let alone DSL.

You might want to see if you can get good cell phone service for an iphone. Maybe an ipad would work.

The only times I've seen good hard rains have been when driving through Willow. Pretty area though.

Bob, make sure there's enough wind. Solar is a good option for several months of the year, and it's quite affordable now.
