I am interviewing for a position in Aniak, AK. The internet isn't providing much information except that the population is 600. Any information or advice is welcome. Thanks.

Advice/information about what?

I raised my children there, but that was decades ago. It was an absolute paradise for an active young man. There've been lots of changes, but that is probably still very true. It's a great place!

What is housing like? Is it hard to find? Businesses in town? Are new comers welcomed?

I don't think that there are that many rentals available in Aniak. You have one main store, AC Value Center and a private owned store. Aniak is the hub for the upper Kuskokwim, there is three main Airlines there: Pen Air, ERA Alaska, and Inland Aviation. You have one restaurant, the Hound House, great burgers and pizza. There is no limit on ordering booze there, skies the limit but you can't sell it there. One school district there, Kuspak School District. I think there is one motel/hotel there. It's been a few years since I wandered upriver.
