Thanks everyone, Great Photo's! I have kind of a side question, where is a good town to find good work and how hard is it to find a summer job. My girlfriend and I are comming up in June for the summer.
Thanks!

I would have to say Jueau, small town surrounded by nice snow topped mountains, lots of things to do, like fish, visit glaciers, whale watch, ride a gondala to the top o the mountain, or even zipline through the forrest ;0

Do others agree that a cruise is the most economical and best way to see Alaska vs traveling to anchorage and renting a house? TIA

Depends on what part of Alaska you want to see. Cruise ship will show you Southeast AK and maybe Denali. I’m sure there are other cruises to show other areas, but AK is so huge you truly need to make multiple trips to see the whole state.

A cruise is probably the most efficient way to see Southeast Alaska. To see Southcentral Alaska, fly into Anchorage and rent a car and head out of town. Don't rent a place in Anchorage and try and "base" yourself there... Spend a couple of days in Seward, a couple of days at Denali National Park and a couple of days visiting places in-between. Allow plenty of time for driving.
In addition to the advice you get here, you should also do some research on the Trip Advisor forum for Alaskan travel: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForu...49-Alaska.html

Be aware that rental car companies may restrict use of their cars to paved roads...and roads leading to many scenic departure points (including the big parks) are NOT PAVED! Check maps for the state of roads to attractions and also rental contracts for restrictions and fees for chipping or cracking the windshield.

A cruise is nothing more than you and 5000 others visiting all the tourist traps in Southeast.
