I've heard the term "blood libel" before but honestly did not know it's meaning until today.

Good for her, as long as it was legal. I would do the same, too. Moose taste quite good

Obama's speech was truly sad and truly healing today.

Like him or hate him, you must admit Obama does give a good speech.

I'm almost certain Sarah Palin did not know the meaning of the phrase when she used it. Another speech writer came up with something remarkable like "Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall" or "Ask not what you can do for your country... ...", And the best that can be done for Palin is "Blood Libel". Quite frankly if she didn't ask what it meant then she deserves all the caustic remarks that are coming in from a worldwide community.

So this pretty much shuts down the whole debate:

Quote:
He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right.
Political rhetoric had nothing to do with this. Sarah Palin has nothing to do with this. 546 posts of pure nothing.

Jared Loughner’s friend says suspect ‘Did not watch TV … disliked the news’ - TVNewser

Of course the loonies will not let this go. As the current mantra of the Democrat party goes...never let a good crisis go to waste.

I think that a lot of people like the way he speaks. But I certainly don't. It seems so sing-song and pedantic. Almost every time he speaks it sounds the same.

I guess that's the way it is with everyone. They all have their own styles. I just don't like his. There seems to be no passion in it.

+1. I also don't find his speeches uplifting, nor sincere.

What a contrast today from the President and the gutterbug from Wasilla.

Regarding Obama's rhetorical skills - they are right up there with the finest. More importantly, he exudes the mien of a man who has an intellect. When you looked at Dubya, you knew that when man took the step from ape to homo sapien, Dubya just didn't jump far enough.
