The easiest way to deal with people like these is to put them on the ignore list. The more you feed a troll, the more they come back. They feed off of the attention. Once the attention is gone then they crawl back into the hole they came out of.

I really think that some people here are projecting their own overactive interest in what Sarah Palin does and says onto the shooter. They can't get how anyone else might not hang on her every word.

But go down to your local cafe or whatever, and mention her, and it probably won't elicit the same type of responses that we see taking place on internet political talk.

Most of us here probably keep closer tabs on Palin than the average person does; most of us have some connection to Alaska, and those that don't wouldn't be posting here if they didn't have an interest in Palin. But even I didn't know much about her political crosshairs website, let alone who was on it.

We might never know whether this kid did or not. But my point remains that...though he was fairly forthcoming in his online political rantings, SP and the tea party weren't mentioned by him. If anything, he expressed a hatred for all government officials.

It's just too big of a legal leap to equate her website with the shootings (and I know that legal nuance is complex, sorry, and one that, again, would create a dangerous precedent.

It would also create even more polarization, which is something that I'm beginning to believe is what those on the far left actually want.

The polarization that some are perpetuating, though, will just lead to an increase in politically motivated violence.

Miss Pat, I am sorry that you and I seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot here...I also read your line about my 'rantings', and I took that with a grain of salt, because I fully realize that sometimes, I can go off on a tangent or two...but, here in Alaska-Forum, or anywhere else on City-Data, if I feel that I was wrong on an issue, or came at another poster in a disrespectful manner of any kind, then I WILL apologize...I've done it before, and besides, who am I not to be respectful of others?

Those same parents I spoke of would 'come to earth with their hair on fire' if they thought for a minute I was not adhering to the way they raised me...I fully acknowledge your opinion, and your right to express same, and as I said to Glitch in my post upthread, I will debate politely and respectfully with anyone who disagrees with me, yourself included...

I do support people acting like adults. Perhaps you should try doing so instead of attempting to browbeat or bully someone who doesn't automatically jump on your bandwagon.

IN NO WAY did I ever state that I think or feel that the violent rhetorical metaphors employed by both sides are not detrimental to the cultural environment in this country. My comments, again, are specific to Constitutional and legal issues.

Plenty of people on this thread certainly do agree with me. Yet I'm the one you're following around delivering your typical passive aggressive and sub literate urban liberal snarks at. Perhaps you're developing the same type of unhealthy fixation on me that you obviously have for the former gov.
