Yeah, pictures of snowy/icy roads bring joy to my heart. Of course, thinking about the idiot drivers surrounding me in those conditions does not, but for some reason I just LOVE driving in the snow and ice. Of course I exercise extreme caution, and I tend to downshift a lot, but it's just so fun and so pretty driving in the snow. I'm kind of a driving nerd though, so anytime I'm having to concentrate to maintain traction is fun for me.

The ones born and raised here should have had that as a part of their Alaska History class although I'm not sure most know it.

I hear McCarthy is an up-and-coming town, especially for end of the road types. Hard to believe that just in 1983 half the town population was murdered.
