Sorry, I couldn't hold back on that.
No problem Ed. I wonder what sort of cookies could resemble musk ox poo?

I've made pie crust with black bear grease instead of lard...Cliff Hudson let me look through some old journals one of his ancestors wrote when they moved to the upper Susitna back in the 1800's some time and the recipe was in there.

Don't know about seal or whale fats, but bear fat rendered down makes a great pie crust,

enjoy,
Nan

I found this topic interesting so I did a search on it and thought I'd found something until I got to the part of the recipe where they called for three penguin eggs:

The Eskimo Pies

Thanks for the link. it looks like that set isn't available online any more. When you click on the Buy Product Online link on the page it returns another page indicating that "the page you have requested cannot be found or has been removed." However, there is another set - see ALASKA MUSHER SET 6 PC L9002 - that is still available.

If that stove is gas or propane - BOOM !!!

THERE: are your cookies. all over the ceiling and walls.
And then some jokester deadpans-and that is how the cookie crumbles.

I have that musher set of cookie cutters- got it at a gift store. The moose, dog and tree turn out nice, but the one in the shape of the state of Alaska- it don't look like Alaska! Nobody could even guess what it was! And what's with the bear's back legs?
