Wow I would leave your binders, notebook papers and other school supplies home and purchase them up here at Wal-Mart, maybe you can return them for a refund and use the money to replenish them us here. You come across soooo excited that it's refreshing. As far as the clothing you will want a variety up here so bring them all up, we were everything up here they wear down there. Depending on the time of year we just wear more of it.

You have more clothes than I've ever owned! Tressa is right...you could save space and heavy luggage by purchasing school supplies and even most clothing right here in AK. We are quite modern and have all the latest styles and stores to choose from. If you have a bathroom scale...weigh yourself...then hold your luggage and do it again. Subtract your weight from the total and bam...you've got your luggage weight. Try to keep it at or below 50 lbs...you may get charged extra if over 50. The lighter and easier handling the better when you go to walk out of the airport.

Well, if you get bored you can always open up a clothing store...lol.
Buy the school supplies here. I believe there is a Walmart and Fred Myers where you're going. |

You can always ship extra stuff by UPS. Weigh your luggage on a bathroom scale
that is how you will know if it is over 50 lbs. Also check with the airline, some times the charge for extra luggage is a lot less than shipping costs. (If your bringing your laptop - make sure you use spell check.) |

84 dollars parcel post to anywhere in AK, versus 50 for "additional baggage" I'm cutting down on what I own..and taking an extra box or two with me on the plane... it's so much cheaper (and faster) than mailing.
use the mail postage stuff, for things that you dont need, the second you get off the plane. take your regular staples and clothing with you when you go.. just IMO ![]() Last edited by Marylandkitten; 08-03-2007 at 02:28 PM. |
