I have been searching the internet for information on how to find jobs. Alot of advice sites say not to pay sites for membership to get job listings. I can't find anything else besides those sites.

I did fill out an application for P.A.S. "We Net The Best"

So if anyone can give me advice, please tell me everything you can about the industry and how I can get into it.

Thanks,

Buy a one way ticket to Dutch Harbor, they hire from the dock.

There are no other sites or anything with a way to get hired by captains? It seems too unpredictable to go on the idea of just walking the docks. I'm a new guy, why would any one hire me? I have no experience.

Warptman is just joking because of the amount of times that people show up on this forum asking the same question. Showing up and walking the docks is pretty much a thing of the past.

Do you have your heart set on working as a commercial fisherman?

The sites that you've seen are something to stay away from; they are only there to take your money.

This thread should have been a sticky:

So, if you have your heart set on commercial fishing, my advice would be to get a job as a fish processor first. That way you might have a chance to get to personally know some of the captains, which is the only way you're going to get hired to work on a good boat. And a good boat is the only kind of boat you want to go out on.

Sometimes Craigslist will have crew openings posted; I think that some of them are scams. They legit ones are probably posted by Captains who have trouble getting/keeping a crew, and that falls into the category of the sort of boat you don't want to go out on.
