Default Hi there! I'm from Tok.

Winter has begun; it's snowing as I type this. We don't get a large amount of snow-not like Yakutat, where it's not unusual to have ten feet on the ground at once. However, once it starts it just doesn't go away. November snow is still on the ground at the beginning of April. Six months of snow! The real problem facing domestic animals is cold. We usually have our first real cold snap in December, with a low of fifty to sixty below. But in January and February the temperature doesn't get ABOVE 20 below. You won't find many horses or cows around here, just moose.
Delta is more likely to have jobs, vets, and feed stores. Farms abound there. the Mat-Su is better, or even the Kenai. Homer is not only one of the most beautiful places on the planet, but it's a whole lot warmer.
