Sorry about your weather Kaul. I did my time in Texas, and still love it there for the most part, but won't ever go back between April and October.

Too bad you are not here right now, we could co-miserate. Even for a Texan, Houston is hot right now....

It seems you Texans always have it in for me when I travel down there! My attendance at my last meeting down in Corpus in February seemed to have conjured up snow in CC for the first time in like 30 years! And I was just able to make the drive back to Houston before the roads and IAH were shut down due to ICE!

And the time before that, I was nearly knocked out of the sky by tornadoes!

Alaska Airlines flight 730 just north of Houston:

I'll be working about 70 miles outside of Houston.

I hear ya!!! I live in Joplin, MO (did until recent tornado) and it broke a record of 107 yesterday. Although, I have been wanting to move to AK for a while now, it looks like it will happen when my son graduates in 2014. We both are really, really, looking forward to it and after the tornado we were ready to just pack up and move but my son wants to finish high school first. Not sure I will last!!!

After living in the drought stricken region in the Horn of Africa for the last (almost) year, I will be glad for some cooler temps and rain. Not TOO much rain - gotta get the Harley out! Can't wait to move this fall! (I know, I will be waiting til May / June to ride...)

I'm moving from GA to AK as well. It seems I will stay in Anchrage for a while and then head to where I really want to be ... Seward. My reasons, well, lets start w/ the temps.
