Folks who part-time would be wise to make sure their hunting/fishing/trapping cabins are stocked for at least 6 months just in case SHTF and they have to bug out in the fall/winter. One pail of kerosene, a can of gas, and a few cans of baked beans won't be enough.

Folks who don't already have a more remote bug out location set up and stocked should have their preps done where they are. Folks who haven't prepped, rely on stores and utlities for everything, and who have never even been so much as camping... well, their prospects aren't looking too good in a SHTF scenario.
Some will, but others won't. All depends on how much supplies you have stashed, cooperation from mother nature, and good health. If you break a leg, or even get a heart stroke, you are out of luck.

In town (Fairbanks or North Pole) it could also be rough, but at least there is a better chance to make it to a hospital or something on the Army post. In relation to killing a moose or a caribou, unless you live in the middle of the 45-mile herd (caribou) and they are migrating through there, the landscape is devoid of plants and game to eat during the winter. And moose, regardless of where you live, "are only where they are found."

Sounds like .. you got it all figured out Ray, but the day is soon coming, it is obvious what is going to happen when they announce the next step - The devaluation of the dollar.. .then biblical prophecy will unfold .. "A whole days wages for a loaf of bread". Scripture speaks all too plainly of a world wide economic collapse and what is going to ensue. This is all unfolding right in front of us - and just by the comments on this.. Most people are expecting it but won't admit it.

Let me just say this..."you can't possibly prepare yourself for what is about to happen. A total economic collapse where money is worthless.

Thirty years ago, I knew, (backthen) was the time to find a safe place and dig in. Like I said and have said... The arctic is pure paradise - vast and virtually unexplored.. No one is coming up here! Thank goodness for that.

IN the news this week; we have a huge lake in texas that has turned blood red, "scripture says the exact same thing will happen to all the oceans and seas of the world".. all life will cease to exist. Blood red oceans.

What is really scary - beyond scary- are the other 20 things that are supposed to happen. 21 specific detailed plagues will be unleashed upon man-kind. IN all your preparation and planning - some of you have inadvertently left That part out. You cannot prepare for what is about to happen. Unless you are READY NOW!!

Go take the time to read: The book of Revelation; It is the only book in the entire bible THAT PROMISES you a BLESSING ... ... if you just read it!!

No, what's beyond scary is this https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1...RlDlNA/nun.jpg and I had to spend 12 years with these creatures in a habit.

I read the bible plenty of times, but that never saved me from the PROMISED BEATING (not BLESSING) Sister Eileen loved giving me and anyone else who dared move a muscle.

If there is indeed a God, then where was s/he when a nun had me held above her head and was seconds away from slamming me across a desk? Why didn't he stop her?

Mice would make a good snack, I imagine. Foxes think so, too.

Some people dig down to permafrost and store perishable foods in there. A few years ago I was looking at a cabin that had one of those "underground refrigerators," right underneath of the floor at the far end of the cabin away from a wood stove. All they had to do was to lift a hinged door, and step down into it. The had shelves and everything lined against one of the walls. While the floor was bare, the walls were lined with pressure-treated planks. The door was insulated with a 4" blue home insulation panel.

As I get older, and hopefully wiser, I realize that no matter how much one suffers, there are others that have suffered a lot more. In fact, a lot of others aren't alive to tell their suffering.

And yes, only you can tell your own suffering (and I am glad I don't go though something like that), but God has nothing to do with it.
