Today we got lucky - being in the right place at the right time to meet some Natives from Savonga that wanted to sell Ivory.

Today we are right on schedule and have seen quickly that the changes we made are indeed increasing production by at least two more per day.

It is early in the day; I will post updated images soon! We should have 18 all finished later tonight!! We are right on schedule !

Default Safety & Drilling techniques

In order for that bracelet to form a perfect circle and lock into place. Every hole has to be drilled in the exact precise location on each and every piece. this is easily accomplished without even having to measure anything. The distance between the lines is the width of the piece of cardboard you wrap around the piece of ivory. It is easily placed at the exact center on the piece quite easily just by dead reckoning. Draw the lines on each side of the cardboard and do the exact same thing for each and very individual bracelet piece.

The lines DO NOT establish the center of the hole - rather they are the edge of the hole; On the left side (line) the hole is to the right.

The edge of the hole on the right side is to the left of the line like so: ol

This new tool or carbide fiber composite emery wheel is used for just one purpose. To cut off the smooth shaft of the drill bit.

It is a must - mandatory to wear safety glasses when cutting with this tool. Or any rotary electric tool, Safety first & Safety second; you only have one pair of eyes. They can't be replaced. Make sure proper protection is used at all times.

We cut the 1/16 inch drill bits to they are 'short' and cannot go the whole way through the bracelet piece.

Watch & learn: NOTICE: When first begining the 'point of entry' to drill the hole. He merely pokes the drill bit where he wants to drill the hole. This simple mark; now establishes the exact center of the hole to be drilled. You can also easily notice; this bit is too long; He can easily go straight through and drill through his finger. But exprience has taught them to only go half way or slightly more; thenn turn the piece over and drill from the other side. As you watch the video, you can tell when the drill bit meets the hole in the other side. This requires a little practice to gain confidence and experience. It won't take long - children have no problem mastering this simple step.

Each bracelet has ten pieces (average). That's 40 times you will drill holes - on just one bracelet.

I am showing you our methods. I'm sure someone will try to incorporate a drill press and attempt to make a *** to place the different size bracelet pieces into. And drill straight through the piece in one shot. Flip it over and do the same thing again. Good luck!

I dunno what happend to the You Tube video ?

The next steps are obvious. String it up and polish it!

Most of what you work at when making a bracelet or ear-rings is to simply draw a simple shape on a piece of material; cut it out, smooth it and round it off.

Repeat & repeat up to ten or more times per bracelet... this is how most of your time is spent.

This is so simple; any child is capable of becoming an expert in just ONE DAY!
What could be easier?

Boring? Yes! - you have to learn how to make a "game" out of this and play!

Bracelets in the works - 9 piece 10 piece & even 11 & 12 piece bracelets are here in the pre-fab area; waiting their turn to be worked on.

Three workers making six bracelets per day for 20 days.

A more appropriate title for this thread .. .. How to make a years pay in less than a month! Working @ home? PREPOSTEROUS!!

Main bracelet pieces & the insets are all ready to be worked on to finish the final product.

More photos... ... coming shortly -

Default It smells like rain !

Sanding baleen, mastodon, ivory - phew; what a stink. Lots of different odors of many different types of minerals contained inside these materials are let loose into the air. Whew... now add to that dust; & people smoking cigarettes..!

Now thanks to this high tech - spendy expensive little unit we no longer have to cope with those issues; They have all been resolved for the mere price of 680 bux delivered by fedX.

This nifty little unit duplicates "natures method" of cleaning the air by using lightning & rain (ions & ozone). Unlike other methods that have to draw the air into a charcoal type filters. This cleans the air itself. It doesn't mask the smell, It removes it instantly.

The same smell you experience when you go outside just after it rains. Fresh & clean.

This tiny incredible unit can clean a home of 3,000 square feet! The room we carve in is 120 sq. feet. If it is not adusted properly - you will experience discomfort or the dust & smell will not go away.

I am just so amazed at how incredibly efficient this unit is. It sure lives up to its name and expectations, and accomplishes exactly that which was advertised.!

I can walk into that small room with sanders running - saw cutting and 3 people smoking and you can't see or smell any of it what so ever. Dust no longer floats it drops like a rock. Its too heavy!
