Can some of my forum peeps as know Bethel tell me about it? The fiancee and I might be headed there shortly to work. How is the weather compared to Barrow? Food prices? Stores? Is there a movie theater there?

Prices of food should be a little less than Barrow. Might be the same, too. Both depend on air shipping in the winter. They do have barge sales in the spring.
We have two AC Stores here, and two Swanson's(former Omni Enterprises), a couple of private owned Case Lot stores, and a Korean owned Quick Stop.

a pack of cigarettes can cost anywhere from $8-$10 kind of expensive, and the cost of living is higher but so is the pay, so it compensates. I've lived in bethel all of my life and have never been out of state but ive been told that you will never meet nicer people anywhere else you go... =) i know a lot of people that have moved here, left then came back because the people were so nice and its got a small town feel, which is nice.
