That's true since most food products have to be brought to Alaska from the lower 48. On top of that, since we also pay more for gasoline at the pump, more for heating fuel, propane, natural gas, and the rest, a PDF check does not get you very far in Alaska. In the lower-48 the products aren't as expensive, and gasoline plus other fuels are cheaper.
