All the leaves have almost fallen from the birch, but the new grass in the field looks incredibly green and beautiful. Photo taken by the road leading to the Flood Project dam in North Pole.

WOW Ray... another season for that beautiful spot... I'm working so hard with house projects and can't get out on my normal hikes for fall... I so miss then... THANK YOU for the view... winter is fast approaching and can feel it in the air and in the wildlife behavior in the back on the pond...

gather your nuts for it looks like a long winter ahead... ... if it wasn't for my projects I would be getting out the snowshoes and winter gear and making sure they're in good order... have a great Monday everyone.

Yes, winter is coming. The temperature is already dropping to the low 20's.

Last week I posted another photo just like this one, one where the birch trees in the foreground had lots of green color leaves. But this photo, taken a week later, the same trees have but a few yellow leaves on.

I wanted to capture just the way the sandhill cranes and the waterfowl are acting up with fall fast approaching... feels like Juneau here with rain for 3 days, 42 degrees and high gusts of wind. Glad I got my lawn winterized and now the raking begins.

This coming weekend close to 70 so get my bulbs planted right??... it's all for the fast approaching sale then Alaska bound... thanks Ray and Pat

Thank you. I'm an animal nut lol, always have been.

I've been experimenting with a new camera, and it's hard just using my left hand (I am right handed), and I sprained right hand and can't use it.

Fall is here for sure, it was 36 degrees this morning....sigh...
