On the beach in Kenai yesterday. Looking west at Mt Redoubt.

Looking east at the Kenai Mountains

This was a plane crash the other morning 2 miles from the Bethel Airport. The pilot received minor injuries, the crewman broke his back from what I hear. This was a Cessna Caravan.

My back hurts just looking at these. Lets hope the kid makes a full recovery. I am friends with his parents and his sisters.

I love the snow. Can't believe how little you've gotten Rance. We've been getting a little everyday finally. Usually doesn't wait until late Dec to get here. There's about 8" on the ground here, problem though, the wind. Every road within 150 miles of me is closed. Probably won't be seeing mail for a week or so. It happens though, just part of living in the Sierra Madres. It's funny to see the look on the non-locals when they find out they can't go anywhere N, S, E or W. and there is no mail, newspapers, etc.
It sure is cold here, 2 deg right now. Sounds like you're having a heat wave.

I went flying with the State Troopers today on behalf of Bethel Search And Rescue for a Kuskokwim River Ice Update. We flew to Aniak and back. Here are some of the photos of the Kuskokwim River.
