^ There are four seasons here in the Philippines, summer summer summer summer

I want to try White Christmas there in Alaska.

Yes it is true that we have many sandy beaches here, love surfing, sand bathing etc, but I want something different,

My sons say thank you for sharing your "ice road" pics. They thought that was some made up camera and computer tricks. They didn't know people really do drive on ice in places.

Default ice

I meant to ask you, warptman, if anyone ever sunk through the ice while driving on it? How do you know what part is safe vs. ice that isn't thick enough to hold weight?

We drive on many of the lakes on the Kenai Peninsula to go ice fishing. I fell through once with my minivan. It's the worst sound in the world. Had I been going faster I think the ice would have come throught the windsheild. 21 below and had to walk a couple miles. I did manage to pull it out and tow it home. I drove that van another 1 year before selling it. It will cost money to get me to reveal the secret of minivan retrieval from the backside of a lake where no one is willing to risk their own vehicle to pull on yours. It's simple, but really really hard to figure out!
