Went out 'n' about Christmas Eve day.

This is from an unnamed lake near Jim Lake and Pioneer Peak.

This is the road to get back there, yes, those are my tracks, we're on our way back out.

And, we saw our first bull moose. We have a cow come through our yard once or twice a week.

If a moose drops his rack in the woods and there's no one around, does it make a sound?

Beautiful shots Nephler!

Darn. Given our recent experiences with a complete a-hole http://www.city-data.com/forum/alask...at-ii-670.html , words can't describe what a piece of sh*t this guy was (50 years old-Spandex running pants-girlish manner of speaking-probably has an Obama sticker still on his Volvo) in this neighborhood, we're considering moving a bit farther north to gain a bit of solitude. Your pics of that wonderful animal make my wife and I want to relocate somewhere where we can enjoy the true joys of Alaska without interference.

I've never wanted to pound someone into the ground as much as I wanted to this guy(It's been 15 years since I've had to flatten someone). However, I didin't want to spend Christmas in jail just a bit more.

We live at the end of a dead-end road, no joggers.

Gary, Marty has a couple properties on his site that I keep drooling over that would be perfect for you guys. Your commute into town might even be shorter.

Thanks for the tip Chris. However, until the market comes around, selling our current home wouldn't make financial sense. Even though we got it for $40,000 under appraised value, it will be some time before the real estate situation becomes advantageous to sellers again. Especially with the socialists running the show in Washington DC.

We are thinking about what to do a few years down the road. Moving from Alaska isn't an option because we love it here. But moving to a more private area with a significant chunk of land is the ultimate goal.
